Wayne Davis, a native of Garrison, Texas, was a four-year starter and had one of the most successful football careers in Louisiana College history. He finished his playing career with the Wildcats in 2003, and was, at that time, the leading rusher in the history of the American Southwest Conference with 3,468 career yards. He also set a Louisiana collegiate and American Southwest Conference single-game record with 322 rushing yards against McMurry in 2003. He then spent three years as LC's running backs coach and played professionally for the Fayetteville Guard and Reading Express of the National Indoor Football League. Davis received his Bachelor's degree from LC in 2005. He resides in Pineville with his wife, Darlinda, and two sons, Kedin and Jayse.
