Hymie Bradford graduated from Louisiana College in 1966 with a B.S. Degree in Physical Education and a minor in Journalism. While a student at LC, Bradford was the No. 1 player and captain of the Wildcat golf team. Highlights of his playing career, 1963-65, included upset victories over Northwestern State and Centenary his senior season. His 3-under par 69 against NSU at the Alexandria Golf and Country Club that year was the best individual score for an LC golfer during that time. Though not a varsity sport accomplishment, the fact that Bradford was voted Outstanding Intramural Athlete by his fellow male competitors at LC has always meant a lot to him. Bradford has been the public address announcer for LC sporting events since the mid-1980's, starting with basketball at that time, adding football in 2000 when that sport returned, and softball late in the first decade of the 2000's, earning the title of "Voice of the Wildcats." He is also well known locally for his broadcast work on local high school football games for stations owned by Cenla Broadcasting Co., a task he initially undertook in 1986. A former board member and president of both the Louisiana College Alumni Association and LC Wildcat Athletic Association, Bradford has also served as WAA administrator. He has made personal calls, organized basketball and golf tournaments and has been depended on for many years to help raise money for LC athletics. Bradford;s commitment to serve Louisiana College when called upon has been consistent since the 1970's and his "talking LC" continues today throughout the community and state. He and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Pineville.
