Beth Poole Palmer was a member of a Louisiana College Lady Wildcat team that was nationally ranked two of the four years she played. Her standard of excellence was evident in her play and in her studies. It has been no less evident in her coaching and in her teaching.

Palmer played pivot for four years at LC, earning herself a spot in LC history with the highest individual career field goal percentage of 50.7 and with the most personal fouls in one season during, having 123 fouls during the 1979-80 season.

She was signed by the Dallas Diamonds women's professional team following her LC graduation, but the team folded before she went to training camp.

Palmer has experienced the same level of excellence in her coaching. She has worked at Louisiana College as an Assistant Basketball Coach and has worked her way up through the ranks of basketball coaching to Head Women's Basketball Coach at East Texas State University.

Palmer is married to Howard Palmer and has one son, Nelson.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Beth Poole Palmer into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 17, 1995.
