Jerry Bryan George graduated from Oakhill High School in 1974 after having a stellar high school baseball career. That was only the beginning for George. Named the 1974 Most Valuable Player in Class B baseball while at OHS, he was also named to the All-American High School Team.

He enrolled at Louisiana College and played first base and pitcher from 1974-1978 on the Wildcat baseball team. In 1978, he hit .380 and set many Wildcat single season records.

A 1979 graduate of LC, George held the record for most at bats with 151, most hits with 59, most doubles with 21, and most triples with 2. He also holds a career record of most doubles with 35. His single season doubles record still stands. In 1978, he was drafted by the Montreal Expos and played with them until the 1980 season. He holds a lifetime batting average of over .300.

He retired in 1980 to be with his family. Following his retirement, he began work for Dis-Tran Engineering and Manufacturing Company. He is now a vice president and plant manager.

George is married to the former Tammy Legett. The two have three children, Jeremy, Jamie, and Sarah.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Jerry Bryan George into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 26, 1998.
