One of the finest defensive players in the history of Louisiana College football, Terry Bolton was a 4 year letter winner for the Wildcats from 2000-2003.
A relentless and incredibly versatile competitor on the field, the Lufkin, Tx. native was loved by his teammates for his infectious personality and bright smile. As a part of the first recruiting class during the rebirth of football at Louisiana College in the year 2000, Bolton helped to lay the ground work of a program for many that followed.
Bolton’s list of career accomplishments as a defensive back for the Wildcats is lengthy. The first All-American (NCCAA) in the modern era of football at Louisiana College, Bolton teamed with fellow Louisiana College Athletic Hall of Fame member Justin Charles all-time tackles leader Clay Matchett, among others, to form one of the finest defensive backfields in program history.
Bolton finished his career 3rd on the all-time pass breakups list with 39, 2nd on the all-time interceptions list with 12, and 3rd on the all-time list for punt return yardage with 313 yards on 31 returns. He amassed 158 total tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, as well as being the only player in program history to return an interception as well as a punt for a touchdown. In addition to being named LC’s first All-American in the modern era, Bolton also garnered 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Louisiana honors.
