James H. Rudd

James H. Rudd came to Louisiana College in 1947 following two years of service to the United States Navy in the South Pacific. In his first year on the Wildcat football team, he was named team co-captain.

He lettered in football three times and was named Honorable Mention to the Little All American Team in 1948 and 1950. Rudd also played on the 1947 baseball team.

A health and physical education major, Rudd was a member of the L Club for three years, the Physical Education Club and the Cadmian Literary Society.

He received his bachelor of science degree in 1951 and spent almost 31 years working for the Oilwell Division of United States Steel. Before his retirement in 1986, he had served as a field representative, a branch manager, and supervisor for Houston Central Warehouse.

His brother, the late John Rudd, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1996.

Married to the late Bremmer Hammers for 32 years, Rudd has two children, James H. Rudd III and Terrie Rudd Dufrene.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Jim Rudd into the Louisiana College Hall of Fame on February 26, 1999.
