Mission Statement
The purpose of the Louisiana Christian University's Sports Medicine Team is to provide the student-athletes of Louisiana Christian University's athletic teams the best health care possible. In conjunction with our coaches and administration, we are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as referral for additional medical treatment as deemed necessary by our staff. Utilizing various rehabilitation equipment and techniques in conjunction with modalities and manual therapy our student-athletes are returned to play as quickly as possible while also promoting their overall well-being. It is our goal as the LCU Sports Medicine Team to offer the highest quality care while quickly and safely returning our student-athletes to their highest level of competition.

The Sports Medicine Clinic is equipped with modality and rehabilitation equipment to facilitate the management of athletic injuries suffered by our student-athletes. This includes electrical stimulation and ultrasound units, an AlterG treadmill, slide boards, dumbbells, battle ropes, resistance bands, therabands and tubing, a Game Ready unit and more.

Dear Wildcat Student-Athletes and Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to Louisiana Christian University. We are excited to have you participating in athletics while pursuing a degree here at LCU. From a Sports Medicine standpoint, we want to make sure that every student-athlete is provided the best care possible. In doing so, there are requirements that must be met before any student-athlete can be cleared for participation.

Below you will find some very important links. These include instructions for completion of pre-participation paperwork, guidelines regarding athletic sponsored insurance and medical referrals, NAIA-required paperwork for certain medications, and educational information regarding concussions and sickle cell trait.

As a reminder, all student-athletes are REQUIRED to have primary medical insurance that provides coverage for intercollegiate athletics. Louisiana Christian University will not allow anyone to participate until first, all pre-participation requirements are completed, and second, the student-athlete has been cleared through the pre-participation physical examination by the LCU Team Physician.

Thank you for your prompt attention to these pre-participation requirements, and we look forward to working with you throughout the upcoming academic year.
