A slender setshot artist who scored well over 1,200 points in his four years as a Louisiana College Wildcat, Joseph Limbaugh's contribution to LC as an outstanding athlete, Dean's List student and campus leader is vast.

Limbaugh, a 1958 graduate, played in 76 consecutive basketball games and was in the starting lineup for all but two games in his basketball career at LC. He broke the previous scoring record with his 1,252 points scored from 1954-58.

He was a member of the first Louisiana College basketball team to win a ball game over Louisiana State University. A majority of his athletic accomplishments were against Division 1 opponents such as LSU, Tulane, and Alabama. Limbaugh was also a three-year letterman in baseball, playing both as pitcher and first baseman.

An excellent student, Limbaugh majored in commerce and minored in mathematics and psychology. He was well-respected among his fellow students and was elected Vice President of the Student Congress (now the Student Government Association) for the 1956-57 school year.

Following his graduation, Limbaugh served in the United States Army for two years.

Limbaugh is married to the former Doris Simpson, who teaches in the Atlanta public school system. They have two children, Gail and Steve.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Joseph Hamilton Limbaugh into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 21, 1997.
