Marilyn “M.D.” Davis holds impressive statistics both as an LC player and as a community college coach. She remains an LC basketball stand-out.

Marilyn received countless honors while playing for the Lady Wildcats. She had the highest field goal percentage and was recognized for having the most field goals made in one season.

She was named to the NAIA All District 30 Basketball Team twice, was Honorable Mention NAIA All American, and NAIA Third Team All American. Twice she was named to the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference All Conference Team.

The highlights, though, of her playing career were playing in the 1985 and 1986 National Touraments and being drafted into the first women's basketball league, the National Women's Basketball Association, in 1986 to play for the Louisiana Blues.

At Meridian Community College in Mississippi, Marilyn was assistant coach for four years and head coach for five years. Her team also attended the Regional Tournament for Region 23.

Marilyn has one son, Ricky Knight Jr.

The Wildcat Athletic Association inducted Marilyn into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on October 25, 2002.
