Bob Corley was a member of Louisiana College’s football team from 1957 until 1960. During this time, Louisiana College went 25-14 and captured the 1958 Rice Bowl Championship. This four-year stretch has been the most outstanding in the history of Louisiana College football.
Corley played defensive back, offensive end, and half-back. He was named team MVP in his senior season. During that year, he averaged 7.8 yards per carry. Also, Corley was named to Who’s Who among American college students because of his outstanding performance in the classroom.
After Corley concluded his career at LC, he headed north to play for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. Corley played in every pre-season game before falling victim to restrictions on the number of Americans that CFL teams were allowed to play.
Corley is now a well-respected Pineville businessman. He and his brother, David, a fellow Louisiana College Hall of Fame recipient, own and operate Corley Plumbing Company. Corley has continued to actively support Louisiana College athletics through the years.
