Hall of Fame
Emillie Collins, a native of Bentley, LA, and graduate of Grant High, was a pitcher and one of the cornerstones of LC's nationally-prominent softball team and a star on the Lady Wildcats squad that won the 2003 NCCAA National Championship. A two-time NCCAA All-American (2002 and 2003), Collins was the 2002 American Southwest Conference East Division Freshman of the Year and was a multiple-time member of the ASC All-Conference team. She was also a star in the classroom, earning three ASC All-Academic honors and a spot on the prestigious CoSIDA All-district Academic team. Collins had a remarkable 1.09 career earned-run average, striking out 383 batters while walking just 95 in 494 career innings. She allowed just 77 earned runs en route to a career win-loss record of 58-13. LC softball coach and athletic director Tim Whitman said of Collins, "In my opinion, her decision to attend LC put us on the map as a program. That decision put into motion a series of events that led us to national prominence." Collins is the first LC softball player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
