Michael “Mike” Peevy is an outstanding former LC student-athlete, a former high school coach known for both his caring attitude and winning seasons, and a dedicated supporter of the LC Wildcat Athletic Association.
His commitment to Louisiana College athletics began as a student and has continued through his adult life.
In 1962, Peevy was awarded a football scholarship to LC, and in 1964, he was named the football MVP. He was a three-year letterman who started as both offensive and defensive tackle.
Peevy taught and coached at Bolton High School for 11 years. He was defensive coordinator for the Bears football team from 1969 until 1976, and the team won four consecutive district championships in those years. They were also state runner-up in 1974.
In the nine years that he was head track coach, his teams won four consecutive district championships as well as the 1974 state title.
He has served as president of the WAA and in other leadership positions, as requested.
Peevy is married to the former Linda Pettus, a 1966 LC graduate. They have two children - Marc Peevy and Marlo Peevy Stanly - and three grandchildren - Paige Williams, Lanny Stanly and Gage Stanly.
The Wildcat Athletic Association inducted Mike Peevy into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on October 25, 2002.
