For a man who had never played in a football game prior to college, the late Harry Aguillard played exceptionally well.

Aguillard played running back for the Wildcats and was consistently one of the high scorers on the team. He was chosen to lead the team as captain and lettered in the sport four times.

He also lettered in basketball and track and was captain of both of those teams. In track, he set records in the 100, 220, and 440-yard dashes. As noted in one article, "Entries Coming in For SIAA Meet Saturday," his usual meet regimen was the 100, 220, 440, 880-yard dashes, the 120-yard hurdles, and the running broad jump. Just to have the stamina to compete, much less win and set records in these numerous events, was a great accomplishment even by today's standards.

Aguillard loved his alma mater, and after he received his degree from LC in 1939, he joined the faculty as a Professor of Physical Education for two semesters. He continued his service to Louisiana College as a member of the Board of Trustees. His leadership on the Board saw LC through a visionary period of growth, including the construction of H.O. West Fieldhouse.

Aguillard and his wife, Helyn, had four children: Kaye Aguillard Wood, Sharon Aguillard Fikes, Kent Aguillard, and current LC President, Dr. Joe Aguillard.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted Harry Aguillard into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame posthumously on February 21, 1997.
