A Central Louisiana native, Robert Boisvert began his athletic career at Menard High School in Alexandria. An impressive career was to follow.

Named to the High School All American football team in 1960, he was a five time All-State player at Menard, twice in football and three times in baseball. For some time, he held the Louisiana high school record for most passes completed in one season – 102 completions in 1960.

Boisvert lettered in football at Tulane University as a quarterback and safety before transferring to Louisiana College. While at Tulane, he was nominated for the All Southeastern Conference Scholastic football team. He had 37 pass completions and an offensive total of 378 yards and two touchdowns.

At Louisiana College, Boisvert lettered in both football and golf. He played quarterback and defensive back on the Wildcat football team and completed 63% of his passes for a total of more than 1,000 yards.

He was the recipient of the Football Scholastic Award in 1954 and was a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society. He graduated cum laude with a degree in science. Soon after, he was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Currently, Boisvert is the owner of the Alexandria Chiropractic Clinic. He and his wife, Maureen, have five daughters, Kelly, Tiffany, Kim, Tracy, and Lori.

The Wildcat Athletic Association inducted Robert Boisvert into the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on October 19, 2001.
