John Thomas (J.T.) Curtis, Jr., Athletic Director and Head Football at John Curtis Christian School in New Orleans, is currently the winningest high school coach in America.

Curtis' teams have been classified as A, AA, AAA, and AAAA. His teams have won seventeen consecutive District Championships and 21 State Championship titles. Curtis holds the national record for the highest number of State Championships in all classifications.  Also, his teams have ranked in the top 20 nationally each of the last six years.

He began coaching football in 1969 and has accumulated a record of 266-35-4. He holds the Louisiana "Winning Streak" record at 46 games spanning the years of 1983-1986.

Personally, Curtis has been named "Coach of the Year" by the Louisiana Football Coaches Association and by the National Sports Foundation on nine occasions. In January of 1991, he was named "Coach of the Decade--1980's" by the National Sports Foundation. He was also inducted into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association's Hall of Fame in 1992. He is dedicated to helping young athletes excell in sports and in life.

Curtis was no stranger to the playing side of football, having played the sport competitively since the eighth grade. In high school at East Jefferson High, he lettered three years and was named "All-District" two years. He was named to the National High School Football "All America" in 1964-65.

He played for three years at the University of Arkansas before attending Louisiana College in 1968.

As head baseball coach at JCCS, his teams have won three State Championships, twenty District Championships, and have attended the State playoffs twenty-two times.

The Wildcat Athletic Association proudly inducted J.T. Curtis, Jr. as a member of the Louisiana College Sports Hall of Fame on February 18, 1994.
