PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University athletic department has announced Brittany Salloum has stepped down as the head coach of the Wildcat volleyball team to focus on her role in the LCU athletic administration.

A nationwide search for the next LCU head volleyball coach is underway.

"This was my first head coach experience, in addition to starting the program," said Salloum. "Looking back, I would say it was every bit as challenging and rewarding as I could have hoped. It certainly had its challenges, but coaching is one of those things where sometimes you stop and think "it's so crazy I get paid to do this."

"In our business of Athletics, it is very rare to find someone with the aptitude, grit, and vision to develop young people in the manner Coach Salloum has done," said Reni Mason, LCU Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics. "Her ability to never compromise the integrity of the development of young people has been amazing to watch over the last decade."

Salloum was tasked with starting the program when she was hired as then-Louisiana College's first volleyball coach back in 2017 when the program was part of NCAA Division III and the American Southwest Conference.

Three years later, she would be tasked with helping guide the program and athletic department through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic while at the same time starting the transition to the NAIA and Red River Athletic Conference.

It was in the NAIA years where her teams saw the most success. In 2022, the Wildcats finished with an 8-8 record in conference play, the first time with an even record. The next season was the best of her tenure with a 15-9 overall record, the first winning season in program record, and a 9-7 record in RRAC play, the first season finishing above .500 in conference play. In 2024, another 15-win season tied the mark for most wins in a season.

"I have so many wonderful, hilarious memories, and relationships I will always be thankful for. I am excited to see how the program continues to develop and to continue my journey at LCU in an administrative capacity."

Mason continued, "Louisiana Christian is blessed to have her, and it has been a privilege as an administrator to witness the mark she has left on the volleyball program."

At LCU, Salloum has served as the advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Senior Women Administrator. She will continue in her current role as the Assistant Athletic Director of Internal Affairs and Champion of Character Representative at LCU.
