WACO, Texas – On the eve of the start of the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Championships, four Louisiana Christian University volleyball team members heard their names called as All-Conference honorees with
Jakaira Jimcoily,
Angelina Medrano, and
Holly Rowe earning spots on the second team while
Mallory Wills was named an honorable mention, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Jimcoily, a freshman middle and outside hitter from Westwego, La., ended the season with the best hitting percentage for the Wildcats this season at .204, hitting .232 in RRAC play. She was also the team leader in blocks with 50 on the year, seven of which were solo. Jimcoily also finished the season getting 1.58 kills per set while adding 3.85 assists per set as well. She had three service aces and found her name listed as LCU's representative on the conference's Champions of Character team as the player who best embodies the NAIA program's five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
Medrano, a sophomore libero and defensive specialist from San Antonio, led the back line for the Wildcats this season, averaging 4.24 digs per set. She was also one of the team's top servers, scoring 24 service aces, just three off the team lead. She also led the team in serve receptions with 438 on the year.
Rowe, a sophomore right side and middle hitter from Lakeland, Fla., averaged 2.12 kills per set and was tied for the team lead in scoring, averaging 2.7 points per set throughout the season. Her scoring included 15 service aces in 2025 and she received 385 opposing serves on the year. She had 46 blocks to her credit throughout the year, eight of which were solo.
Wills, a sophomore middle hitter from Lake Charles, La., averaged 1.16 kills per set on a .148 attack percentage for the Wildcats. She put up 1.7 points per set, which included 49 blocks on the year, just one off the team lead, 15 of which were solo which was the most for LCU this season. Wills finished the season with 10 service aces as well.
Jimcoily, Medrano, Rowe, Wills, and the rest of the Wildcats (5-17, 2-8 RRAC) enter the 2025 RRAC Volleyball Championship on Thursday as the five-seed. LCU opens play in the first round of the tournament at 1 p.m., taking on the four-seed, Jarvis Christian. The Bulldogs (13-16, 4-6 RRAC) won both matches against the Wildcats earlier this season, taking the first in three sets and the second in five sets.
The winner of the match between LCU and Jarvis comes back at 7 p.m. Thursday to take on the conference regular season champion and top seed in the tournament, Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles (23-6, 9-1 RRAC) in the semifinal round. The 2025 RRAC Volleyball Championship is being played at the Convocation Center on the campus of Xavier in New Orleans.
