TEXARKANA, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball team dropped both halves of its conference weekend pair at Texas A&M-Texarkana after falling 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-18) Saturday at the Patterson Student Center.
The Wildcats (2-13, 0-4 RRAC) finished the match hitting .063 as a team with 21 kills and 16 attack errors on 80 total attacks. TAMUT (18-4, 4-0 RRAC) hit .356 in the match with 40 kills and nine errors on 87 total attacks.
Jasmia Hartwell and
Kourtlyn Smith both had eight kills to lead LCU in the match. Hartwell finished the match with a .211 attack percentage on 19 total attacks and added a solo block to finish with nine total points. The eight kills accounted for all of Smith's scoring, hitting at a .034 average on 29 total attacks.
Angelina Medrano had 10 digs and scored one of LCU's two service aces in the match.
Madison Danley had 19 assists while getting the Wildcats' other service ace against the Eagles.
The Wildcats return to action next Friday as LCU heads to Hawkins, Texas for a pair of conference matches against Jarvis Christian. Opening serve of Friday's match against the Bulldogs (11-8, 0-2 RRAC) is set for 6 p.m. at the E.W. Rand Center.
