Kylei Leblanc earned her second Red River Athletic Conference Weekly Award of the season on Monday, being named its Defensive Player of the Week.
Leblanc, a sophomore forward/center from Lake Charles, La., averaged seven defensive rebounds, five steals, and 3.5 blocks per game in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats. She did that while averaging 24 points on 50 percent shooting with two more rebounds on the offensive side of the glass per contest during the week.
Against Jarvis Christian on Thursday, she scored 25 points with 10 rebounds, came up with four steals and blocked three shots in LCU's win.
She followed that up with 23 points, nine rebounds, six steals, four blocks, and two assists in Saturday's contest against Texas College.
This is Leblanc's third career RRAC Defensive Player of the Week award and second of this season. She was also named the NAIA's Defensive Player of the Week the previous time she won the RRAC's award this season.
Louisiana Christian (3-20, 2-15 RRAC) returns to action on Monday night with the make-up of the previously postponed game at Xavier. Tip-off of Monday's contest against the Gold Nuggets (14-9, 10-7 RRAC) is set for 5:30 p.m. at Xavier's Convocation Center.
