LCU’s Season Ends with Loss at UNT-Dallas

Wildcats Finish 2025-26 with 5-23 Record, 4-18 in RRAC Play

CEDAR HILL, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball team trailed by three early in the fourth quarter, but went cold in the final 10 minutes, ending its season with an 82-65 loss to the North Texas-Dallas Trailblazers Saturday afternoon at the Trinity Leadership Public School Gymnasium.

The loss dropped Louisiana Christian to a final record of 5-23 overall and 4-18 in Red River Athletic Conference play, failing to qualify for the upcoming RRAC Championship Tournament. UNT-Dallas (11-13, 10-12 RRAC) will be the six-seed in the tournament and travel to the three-seed, Texas A&M-Texarkana (19-9, 17-5 RRAC) in the quarterfinal round.

A jumper by Kateria Gooden to start the fourth quarter pulled the Wildcats within three at 54-51. But from there, it was all Trailblazers as UNTD went on an 8-0 run and never let LCU back within eight. Trailing 69-60 with 3:30 left after Kylei Leblanc split a pair of free throws, the Trailblazers went on another 8-0 run to push their lead to the largest of the contest at 17 points, a margin that would be matched twice more down the stretch, including following the final basket of the game for the final margin.

Leblanc got her 14th double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds. She also had six steals, two assists, and blocked two shots.

Carlea Owens also had a good end to her season, finishing with 19 points and eight rebounds. She also had two blocks, an assist, and a steal.

Both Kateria Gooden and M'Kiyiah Olivier came off the bench to score eight points.
