VICTORIA, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University golf team wrapped up its two-day visit to Texas with a 12
th place finish at the Claud Jacobs Invitational on Tuesday at the Victoria Country Club.
Blake Francis led the way for Louisiana Christian. In Monday's second round, he shot a two-over-par 72, his best round of the event. In both other rounds, he shot a 79, seven-over-par. He finished tied for 38
th place with 232 strokes16 over par.
Up next for the Wildcats was
Cooper Ware. He finished tied for 50
th place with a 239, 23 over par. He started the event with his best round, shooting a +6, 78 in Monday's first round. He then shot a 79, seven-over-par later Monday in the second round. He finished the event with a 10-over 82 on Tuesday.
Andrew Cordova was the next LCU golfer to come through, finishing in a tie for 57
th at 27-over, 243. His best round was Tuesday's round as he also hit a 79, seven-over. On Monday, he started with an eight-over, 80, in the first round before shooting an 84, 12-over in round two.
LCU's final scorer was
Clayten Ray, who finished tied for 69
th with a 49-over, 265. His best round was Monday's second round where he carded an 86, 14-over. He started Monday with an 88, +16. In Tuesday's final round, he was 19-over with a 91.
The Wildcats now take a couple weeks off before heading to Opelika, Ala. for the Lawrence Tech Spring Break Invitational. The Lawrence Tech Spring Break Invitational runs March 10-12 at the RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National.
