SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's golf program was one stroke away from landing its first All-Conference performer as a member of the RRAC and finished 112 strokes ahead of Jarvis Christian University to wind up in fifth place during the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.

Blake Francis earned the top slot for the Wildcats, coming in seventh (top-six get All-RRAC honors) and placing higher than two players currently among the NAIA's top-80, #77 Oliver Gaisford (Our Lady of the Lake) and #28 Joshua Van Der Wath (Houston-Victoria). For the tournament, the Rayne, Louisiana native registered a +7 (223) with nine birdies.

Cooper Ware concluded his senior season firmly in the middle of the pack at 16th, producing a score of +18 or 234 strokes while coming up two birdies short of his aforementioned teammate for the team lead.

LCU baseball player turned golfer Sladen Lyles joined the squad in time for the tourney, impressively scoring lower than two other players despite being thrown into the fire, hitting par on five holes.

Even crazier still, a student-athlete who was recruited to play wide receiver and spent the 2024 campaign on the gridiron at Warner University rounded out the quartet of Cats in San Antonio courtesy of Omarius Davis. Davis, who did not arrive on-campus until the beginning of the spring semester, outplayed JCU's Derrick Rhodes by breaking even seven times, making his first impact on "The Hill" in unexpected fashion.
