OKLAHOMA CITY – The #16/#16 Louisiana Christian University football team picked up another weekly award as Travis Adams ran his way to the Sooner Athletic Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Adams, a sophomore running back from Tioga, La., took back all the momentum East Texas Baptist thought it garnered by scoring a touchdown on its opening drive of the second half by returning the ensuing kickoff back 92 yards for a Wildcat touchdown, reestablishing a 16-point LCU lead at 37-21. The Wildcats went on to win 50-36.

This is Adams's first career SAC Player of the Week award.

Adams and the rest of the Wildcats (5-1, 3-0 SAC) face a battle atop the conference on Saturday as (RV) Texas Wesleyan comes to Pineville to wrap up LCU's three-game homestand. Kickoff of Saturday's contest against the Rams (3-2, 3-0 SAC) is set for 2 p.m. at Wildcat Field and will be live streamed on Urban Edge Network and YouTube thanks to 446Sports.
