KANSAS CITY – The Louisiana Christian University football team moved up in both NAIA polls released on Monday, coming in at #16 in both the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll and the Victory Sports Network media poll.
Louisiana Christian (5-1, 3-0 SAC) is coming off a 50-36 homecoming win over the NCAA Division III East Texas Baptist Tigers on Saturday, retaining the Border Claw trophy from the rivalry the two schools had during LCU's NCAA D3 days.
LCU entered the contest against ETBU at #19 in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 and #17 in the VSN Media Top 25. A third poll, the NAIAFBall Media Top 25 which comes out on Tuesdays, had the Wildcats at #14 heading into the game against the Tigers.
With its new ranking at #16, the Wildcats head into battle against one of the two teams with which it shared the 2025 Sooner Athletic Conference football championship with, and the team that earned the SAC's automatic big into the NAIA Football Championship Series, Texas Wesleyan. The game has been designated as the SAC's Game of the Week.
The Rams (3-2, 3-0 SAC) received votes in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 and, after an 0-2 start, have won three-straight contests. TXWES defeated Arkansas Baptist, 34-27, in Little Rock Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff of Saturday's battle atop the SAC against the Rams is set for 2 p.m. at Wildcat Field. It will be live streamed thanks to 446Sports on YouTube through the 446Sports YouTube page and the Urban Edge Network.
