OKLAHOMA CITY – For the second time in 2026, the reigning Sooner Athletic Conference champion #20/#17 Louisiana Christian University football team swept the SAC's weekly awards with Bryce Perkins being named the offensive, Judson Mixon the defensive, and Preston Baker the special teams players of the week, the conference office announced on Monday.
 
Perkins, a redshirt sophomore quarterback from Van Buren, Ark., completed 18 of 24 pass attempts in the 69-24 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State for 315 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran twice for 10 rushing yards in the win. This is Perkins' first career conference offensive player of the week award.
 
Mixon, a redshirt senior linebacker from Rosenberg, Texas, had 10 tackles in Saturday's win over the Aggies, seven of them being solo stops. 1.5 of his tackles took place behind the line of scrimmage to cause a loss of yardage. This is Mixon's first career defensive player of the week award.
 
Baker, a sophomore kicker and punter from Gonzales, La., accounted for 15 total points in the win on Saturday, going 9-for-9 on points after touchdown and made both of his field goal attempts. He also kicked off 12 times for a 57.6-yard average with two touchbacks and forced several other fair catches.
 
This is the second time LCU has swept the SAC weekly honors. Back on Aug. 31, Datlan Cunningham (offensive), Ernest Mitchell (defensive), and Obadiah Butler (special teams) took home all the hardware following the 42-37 win at NCAA D1 FCS Northwestern State to start the season.
 
The Wildcats (4-1, 3-0 SAC) now look ahead to homecoming week and the renewing of the Battle of the Border Claw rivalry game with LCU's NCAA D3 and American Southwest Conference days, East Texas Baptist. Kickoff of Saturday's game against the Tigers (2-2) is set for 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field and will be streamed on YouTube through the 446Sports channel and the Urban Edge Network.
