KANSA S CITY – For the first time in program history, the Louisiana Christian University football team can call itself a top-15 team in the nation as the Wildcats moved to #14 in the Victory Sports Network Top 25 media poll & #15 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll on Monday.
#15/#14 Louisiana Christian (6-1, 4-0 SAC) moved into the top 15 of both polls after taking down (RV) Texas Wesleyan, 42-27, on Saturday, giving the Wildcats sole possession of first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference as the lone team still undefeated in SAC play.
LCU has given two of the three teams with one loss in the SAC their loss, Wayland Baptist (4-2, 3-1 SAC) and Texas Wesleyan (3-3, 3-1 SAC). The third team with one loss in the SAC, Ottawa (Ariz.) (4-2, 4-1 SAC), comes to Pineville in the final week of the regular season.
The Wildcats now start a three-game road trip this Saturday in Waxahachie, Texas to take on Nelson. Kickoff of Saturday's contest against the Lions (1-5, 1-3 SAC) is set for 2 p.m. at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium and will be live streamed on YouTube thanks to 446Sports.
