WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball team picked up its first Red River Athletic Conference weekly honor as
Kylei Leblanc was named the Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Leblanc, a sophomore forward/center from Lake Charles, La., averaged 22.5 points and 10 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Wildcats, hitting 56.3 percent of her shot attempts in the two games.
In the 80-68 loss to SUNO, Leblanc scored 18 points on six-of-11 shooting with nine rebounds.
In Saturday's 95-81 win over Central Baptist, Leblanc went off for 27 points on 12-of-21 shooting, including a three-pointer, with 11 rebounds.
This is Leblanc's first RRAC Offensive Player of the Week award of her career, joining the Defensive Player of the Week honor she won last season.
Leblanc and the rest of the Wildcats (1-3) head to Ruston on Tuesday for an exhibition contest against NCAA Division I Louisiana Tech. Tip-off of Tuesday's contest against the Lady Techsters (0-2) is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas Assembly Center and will be televised on ESPN+.
