WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball program has now captured a defensive player of the week award on top of its two offensive players of the week as freshman
Kylei Leblanc used her rim protecting skills to earn the nod.
Leblanc, a small forward / center from Lake Charles, Louisiana, went for back-to-back double-doubles including a season-high 14 rebounds vs. North American.
She led the Wildcats in rebounds (26, 13.0 per game), blocks (8, 4.0 per game) and defensive rebounds (19, 9.5 per game) while also swiping three steals (1.5 per game).
During her debut collegiate campaign, the LaGrange Senior High School product tops all Wildcats in both rebounds (135) and blocks (24) for an average of 8.4 / 1.5, respectively.
LCU hosts the pair of LSU branch campuses from Alexandria (Thursday, 5:30 p.m.) and Shreveport (Saturday, 1 p.m.) as it looks to keep its momentum rolling after winning three of its past four.
