Brady ASC Hitter of the Week

Louisiana College freshman utility player Jade Brady has been named the American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Making her first starts of her collegiate career over the weekend, Brady came out of the gate swinging, literally. The LaPlace native went 10-for-17 in LC's four games, a .588 batting average, with three extra base hits, a double and two home runs. Her 2-run opposite field shot broke the game open in the Wildcats' 8-2 win over Schreiner on Friday and her bomb against Millsaps was the second of a back-to-back attack with Abby Sterling in the third inning to extend the lead. She drove in a total of nine runs on the weekend including a 4 RBI game against Schreiner. Not only did she have an impressive weekend at the plate, she also picked up a win in the circle on Saturday, throwing 4.0 shutout innings giving up just two hits with three strikeouts.

The Wildcats open ASC play in 10 days as they travel to Howard Payne University for a three game series beginning February 22 in Brownwood, Texas.
