KB Named Player of the Week

For the second time this season a Louisiana College men's basketball player has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week. Kae'ron Baker takes home this week's honor joining big man Devon Washington who won the award in early December.

KB had another special week in the two important wins for the Wildcats over Belhaven and UT Dallas. The sophomore guard averaged 17.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game. He went 12-for-21 (.571) from the field on the week and 7-of-11 (.636) from beyond the arc. He was a key part of the Wildcats' setting of a new team record for field goal shooting (.705) in the win over Belhaven and once again made clutch shots late in the game in the win over UT Dallas.

On the year, the Blinn College transfer is averaging 14.1 points per game, second best on the team 17th overall in the conference. He is the second leading rebounder for the Wildcat and tops the team with 56 assists on the year, a 2.9 per game average. Baker has a .467 field goal percentage on the year and a .402 mark from beyond the 3-point line. Maybe his most impressive stat are his numbers from the free throw line, where he leads the team and the conference making 41-of-45 (.911) attempts on the season.

Baker and the Wildcats will take on Belhaven and UT Dallas once again this week as they travel to Mississippi on Tuesday and Texas on Thursday.
