Wildcats Continue to Improve

9/29/2018 1:26:00 PM

For the third straight weekend the Louisiana College men's and women's cross country teams showed marked improvements as they competed in the most recent McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Saturday morning in Lake Charles. Maycee Lachney was the top finisher for the Wildcat women, with a new personal best in the 5K distance of 21:42.5, the only female runner for LC to average a sub seven-minute mile time. Nathan Anderson once again paced the men's team with a time of 25:11.9 running the 4-mile distance at a pace of 6:18 per mile.

"All the girls got personal records today and worked harder than ever before," Head Coach LaTonya Loche said. " The determination, will, and efforts were seen in each one of these ladies today. Maycee ran so well today and had a big personal record. I am so excited for the rest of the season."

Alyssa Hollier finished just a few places and seconds behind Maycee Lachney with a time of 22:02.2 with Haleigh Lachney not far behind at 22:27.8. MySherie Johnson (25:19.4) and Trinity Foster (25:51.5) rounded out the top five for the Wildcat women.

Adam Hair was the second finisher for the Wildcat men with a time of 27:51.1 with Cameron Creasy (31:22.2), Brock Spears (38:33.1), and Damien Doyle (46:10.0) closing out the top five for LC.

The Wildcats will compete in Marshall, Texas next weekend in a meet hosted by East Texas Baptist University. For more on LC cross country and all Wildcat athletic programs follow @LC_Wildcats on Twitter or like Louisiana College Wildcats on Facebook.
