Box Score

The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats suffered their second loss on the young season Monday night, on the road against LSU-Shreveport.  The Pilots were able to control the game from the opening tip and took advantage of 25 Wildcat turnovers to pick up the convincing 84-52 victory.  LC will travel to Abeline on Thursday for the ASC conference opener against McMurry before taking on Hardin-Simmons Saturday afternoon.

The Pilots jumped out to an early 8-0 lead at the start of the first quarter, before the Wildcats were able to get on the board at the 7:53 mark of the first. Freshman Booke Comeaux was able to sink two shoots from three point land in the opening frame that pulled the game within five and then again within eight with just over a minute remaining, but LC still trailed 18-10 at the end of one. LC would get as close as six points in the second quarter on three different occasions but LSUS would outscore the WIldcats 12-7 over the final 6:24 of the half and hold a 36-25 lead at halftime.

Already ahead by 11 to start the third quarter, LSUS continued to press the issue and outscored LC 25-14 in the third and 48-27 in the second half.  The Pilots were able to score 38 points off of LC turnovers throughout the game and scored 52 points in the paint.  Another 8-0 run by LSUS in the third quarter all but secured the victory for the home team as they pulled out to a 51-30 lead with 4:03 left.  Even with the 84-52 defeat the play of freshmen Kristen Breaux and Brooke Comeaux was certainly a bright spot for the Wildcats. Both players had 13 points each in the game, leading the way for LC, and Comeaux was 4 of 6 from the field and 3 for 4 on three point attempts, Breaux went 6 for 13 from the floor.

The Lady Wildcats will travel to Abeline on Thursday for their first ASC game of the season as they take on McMurry (1-2), they will then play Hardin-Simmons (2-2) on Saturday.
