Despite a very young and inexperienced roster, the Louisiana College women's basketball fought hard in a 68-60 loss to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas as the Lady Wildcats closed out their first weekend of the regular season on the final day of the Southwestern University Classic.

A slow second quarter in which the Lady Cats were outscored 15-3 was the eventual difference in the game, as LC was tough defensively once again, holding Soithwestern to just 38.6% (22-57) shooting from the field and forcing 26 turnovers.

Freshman guard Rydeja McQuarn led LC in scoring for the second straight game, pouring in 26 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Center Brooke Jones led LC on the boards with 8 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.

The Lady Wildcats (0-2) will be back in action on Tuesday as they take on in-state Division I opponent McNeese State in Lake Charles.
