Playing one of the nation's best and most experienced teams in another "home game" away from home, the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats battled but came up just short of pulling off an upset in conference play, as they fell to 18th ranked UT-Tyler 70-65 at The Fort on LSU-A's campus on Thursday night in Alexandria.

UT-Tyler was able to go into the locker room at halftime with a 43-38 lead due in large part to effort on the boards, as they collected 13 offensive rebounds to just six for the Lady Cats, which resulted in a 17-4 advantage in second chance points.

LC stayed within striking distance in the first 20 minutes with hot start shooting from the field, as they went 4-for-10 from behind the three-point line and shot 43.8% overall from the field against one of the regions toughest defensive teams.

LaToya Evans, who scored seven of LC's first nine points, went a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free throw line to lead the Lady Cats with nine points in just eight minutes of action in the first half.

However, after a back-and-forth first half that saw 12 lead changes and eight ties, UT-Tyler showed off why they are the perhaps favorites to win the ASC title in the second half, as they never allowed the Lady Cats to regain momentum, as they led for all twenty minutes of the second half to take the win.

LC senior center Danisha Allison led the Lady Cats in scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 8 rebounds on the night.

The Patriots were led by All-American post player Brittany King, who finished with a game-high 20 points and 14 rebounds, 11 of which came on the offensive end.

The loss dropped LC to 8-4 overall and 5-4 in ASC play, which puts them fourth in the conference standings. The Lady Cats will take on the University of the Ozarks (9-6 overall, 5-5 in ASC play) on Saturday on LSU-A's campus in a game between the fourth and fifth place teams in the conference standings that is sure to have big implications on both team's postseason fates.
