WACO, Texas - #19 Louisiana Christian University baseball pitcher
Kade Linn picked up his second conference weekly honor of the season as he was named the Red River Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Â
Linn, a graduate right-handed pitcher from New Iberia, La., completely shut down the (RV) Our Lady of the Lake line-up on his way to a complete game shutout as #19 Louisiana Christian took down the Saints 3-0 in game one of Thursday's doubleheader.
Â
Seven Saints batters were set down via the strikeout by Linn with just one opposing hitter reaching safely against him, accounting for all three hits given up. Linn retired all other OLLU hitters in order throughout the contest.
Â
This is Linn's second RRAC Pitcher of the Week award this season, and of his career. This is LCU's third weekly award of the season as
Braden Trull was named Player of the Week to join Linn in sweeping the honors on Feb. 9.
Â
#19 Louisiana Christian (31-7, 16-5 RRAC) faces another key battle this weekend as the Wildcats head across the Red River for a three-game series against the team they currently sit tied with for third in the conference standings, LSU Alexandria. First pitch of Friday's series opener against the Generals (28-11, 16-5 RRAC) is set for 6 p.m. at Generals Field.
