EUNICE, La. – Two members of the #23 Louisiana Christian University baseball team earned another award for their play during the 2026 season with both
Kade Linn and
Matthew Cody named Second Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) on Saturday.
Linn, a graduate student right-handed pitcher from New Iberia, La., continued to add awards to his mantle after the success of his season. The All-Louisiana honor joins his All-American Second Team nod from the NAIA as well as the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings, a First Team All-Conference selection by the Red River Athletic Conference, and a three-time RRAC Pitcher of the Week.
He finished 2026 with a 10-1 record and a 2.40 ERA over 82.1 innings pitched. He struck out 109 batters throughout the season while walking just 25, averaging 11.91 strikeouts per nine innings while giving up 27 runs, 22 earned. Linn threw the final pitch in four games that he started throughout the season, two of which he kept the opponent from scoring any runs.
Opposing hitters had just a .213 batting average off the Mississippi College transfer. He also ended the year with a 1.08 WHIP. He had a season-high 12 strikeouts in three separate games throughout the season - against Central Methodist, Xavier, and in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round against Marian.
Cody, a junior outfielder from Hammond, La., made an immediate impression in his first season in Pineville. The transfer from Nunez Community College finished the year leading the Wildcats in batting average, .403, on base percentage, .494, and was second in slugging, .581. He hit five home runs during the season, third-most on the team, two of them coming in the NAIA National Championship Tournament Opening Round. He also recorded 72 putouts and three assists without committing an error in the LCU outfield.
LCU finished its season with a 37-15 record, 19-8 in the Red River Athletic Conference, and advanced to the finals of the Lawrenceville Bracket in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round. The Wildcats are ranked 23
rd in the final NAIA Top 25 Coached Poll of the 2026 season.
