WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's basketball team picked up its first Red River Athletic Conference weekly award of the season with Kylei Leblanc being tabbed the RRAC's Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Leblanc, a sophomore forward/center from Lake Charles, La., had double-doubles in both games on the week, and even flirted with a triple-double in one of those contests, as Louisiana Christian went 1-1 on the week, picking up a dominant, much-needed win on Saturday.

Against North Texas-Dallas on Thursday, Lebland scored 20 points but made her mark on the defensive end. She grabbed nine defensive rebounds, 12 total for the double-double, flirted with the triple-double by coming up with eight steals, and blocked three Trailblazer shots. For good measure, she added three assists on the offensive side as well.

In Saturday's dominant win over Southwest, she scored 16 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Seven of those rebounds were on the defensive end. Leblanc also came up with six steals and blocked four Mustang shots.

For the week, she averaged 18 points, 11.5 rebounds, eight per game coming on the defensive glass, seven steals, and 3.5 blocks. This is Leblanc's first weekly award of 2025-26 and the second of her LCU career.

The Wildcats (2-15, 1-10 RRAC) continue their four-game homestand on Thursday as Xavier comes to Pineville from New Orleans for a conference contest. Tip-off of Thursday's game against the Gold Nuggets (9-7, 6-5 RRAC) is set for 5:30 p.m. on Gene Rushing Court at H.O. West Fieldhouse.
