Cooksey Walks It Off, Drives In Five As Wildcats Clobber Champion Christian

PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program let out its frustrations on the poor visitors from Hot Springs, Arkansas on Monday afternoon, run-ruling the Tigers of Champion Christian College by scoring in six of the seven innings while holding their guests to just a pair of hits in a 12-0 rout.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Braxton Cooksey was the star of the show in the matinee, racking up six total bases courtesy of a three-RBI, walk-off, opposite field home run and a two-run double, both of which were sent screaming off the bat into the right-centerfield gap.

  • Adrian Aguilar was a close second, turning the lineup over out of the nine-hole with a 3-for-3 day including a two-bagger, an RBI, and a run scored.

  • Braden McLin made his collegiate pitching debut as the starter on the bump and immediately got the dub, going three scoreless frames with two strikeouts and his only blemishes being a pair of hits.

  • Nick Lorio went 2-of-3 (both singles), scoring each time he reached, and Gavin Vordick made it safely twice as well, once on a double and the other on a walk.

  • Harrison Waxley had the unique distinction of being the starting third baseman, gathering a base knock and a steal out of that role, before moving to the mound to fire off two frames of hitless baseball in which he struck one Tiger out.
