Billy Allgood Field
Home of Louisiana Christian Baseball.
Billy Allgood Field was built in the 1970s after Louisiana College restarted baseball following a brief hiatus and has served as the home of Wildcat Baseball ever since while the dedication ceremony was held prior to the March 20, 1973 Home Opener vs. LeTourneau.
Since 2000, more than a million dollars in improvements has been done to "The Billy" to upgrade it to modern standards, with most of the money coming through the fundraising efforts of head coach Mike Byrnes. Among those improvements; an outfield wall, new scoreboard with video message center on top, batting cages, perimeter fence around the facility, chair back seats and a covered seating area, press box, new sound system, walkways in front of the dugouts, and brick backstop. The improvements allowed for capacity inside the stadium to be around 550 people all told, 425 of which could find one of the new seats.
One of the biggest improvements to Billy Allgood Field came in 2016 when the Skip Converse Fieldhouse was added to the facility, as well as the installation of a turf infield. The turf infield was made possible by a generous donation in the memory of Allen "Dick" Wall.
