Alonso Listed Among Best Players In The Boot, Monnet & Kyle Just Miss Cut

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program can boast one of the top ten position players in the entire state for 2024 as Maria Alonso was selected to the All-Louisiana First Team while classmates Emma Monnet and Allie Kyle were among the Honorable Mentions.
 
Alonso, a senior from Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, Spain, concludes her trophy case collection from her breakout campaign with her first and only All-Louisiana recognition. The midfielder finished with the eighth-most votes as the All-RRAC First Teamer and RRAC All-Tournament Teamer ranked top-25 nationally regarding both total assists (11) and penalty kick goals (2) while raking in RRAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on October 28. The Spaniard also was top-40 in the NAIA and fourth leaguewide regarding assists per match (0.58), slotting among the top-ten in single-season team records with two PK goals (1st), assists (2nd), two game-winners (7th), 21 points (9th), 22 shots-on-goal (9th), and 43 shots (10th).
 
Monnet, a senior from Yzeure, Allier, France, capped her career with her second straight appearance as an All-Louisiana Honorable Mention. The All-RRAC Second Teamer will go down as the best player in team history, leaving behind program records for game-winners (11), points (111), goals (45), shots-on-goal (125), and total shots (206). In 2024, she tied for the most game-winners ever (4), the second-most shots (68), third-highest number of PK goals (1) and SOGs (42), fourth-best point (29) and goal (12) totals, and the eighth-best amount of assists (6).
 
Kyle, a senior from DeRidder, Louisiana, also scored her second consecutive listing in terms of being an All-Louisiana Honorable Mention. The All-RRAC First Team and All-Tournament Team selection captained the best defense the university has ever seen, starting 19 of the 20 matches while appearing in all of them, and contributing three points including the go-ahead goal to beat Houston-Victoria.
