KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program has been among the most consistent in the nation since Head Coach
David Castillo took over the helm five years ago as the Cats have been in the receiving votes category of the NAIA's bi-weekly top-25 poll for the past 24 weeks now after coming in at #34 with 26 points.
The non-conference strength of schedule has only increased as the year progresses with William Carey (Tied, 1-1) surging up to #13 in the latest iteration, LCU being one of only two times the Crusaders have not won in 2024 (5-0-2), and Williams Baptist (Loss, 3-0) has soared back up from the depths of the unranked to sit just three spots from inclusion at #28.
Former #25 LSU Shreveport, who has also fallen victim to the Eagles' hot streak, dropped into the receiving votes category, sitting just two spots and four points ahead of the Wildcats at 30th (30 points).
The Orange and Blue have a favorable four-game stretch upcoming between now and the fourth poll, beginning with Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. vs. Southwest (New Mexico), followed by Paul Quinn (home), Jarvis Christian (away), and Texas College (away).
