In the summer of 2020, David Castillo took over the reins of the Louisiana College men's soccer team.

Castillo came to LC following a very successful stint as an assistant coach on the Southeastern (Fla.) University women's soccer team, where he helped guide the Fire to the semifinals of the NAIA National Championship Tournament during his lone season at SEU in 2019. That team boasted five NAIA All-Americans, including the NAIA's National Player of the Year, and finished the season #4 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 following the postseason.

He got his coaching start at his alma mater, Florida College, where he served on the coaching staffs of both the Falcons' men's & women's teams, including a two-year stint as the women's head coach and men's associate head coach. During his time leading the women's program, the Falcons earned a trip to the USCAA National Championship Tournament, earned a number one ranking in the USCAA poll, set up the program's first-ever soccer ID camp to assist in recruiting, and aided FC's transition into the NAIA & Southern States Athletic Conference. Under his guidance, the Falcons earned a berth in the SSAC postseason tournament in its first season in the conference.

Castillo started all four seasons at Florida College, being named captain his last two years and garnishing USCAA All-American honors. Castillo is a native of Riverview, Fla., and received his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Florida College in 2016. Castillo received his MBA from Louisiana Christian University in 2023. He currently holds a UEFA C and UEFA B license.
