PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program knocked off a receiving votes Loyola (New Orleans) squad via "Death By 1,000 Cuts" as 17 of their 18 hits (94.4%) were singles in a pivotal 12-9 non-conference victory.

Wildcats Top Performers:
- Harrison Waxley took advantage of his numerous chances the Wolfpack gave him with runners in scoring position, rapping out three RBI singles and a two-run blooper down the right field line for a total of five runs batted in on four hits over five at-bats including a score plus a stolen base.
- Braden Trull, the defending Red River Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week, has already put himself in a strong position to defend his title as he was a perfect 5-for-5 on the afternoon with three runs scored and a ribbie.
- Gavin Corzine was the lone pitcher to come away unscathed in the scoring department for LCU, working around a trio of baserunners to escape harm.
- Tyler McKenna hit the only non-single on the day, smacking a double as part of a 3-for-4 outing that also saw him reach via plunking and cross the plate once.
- Hunter Gotreaux and Gabe Spedale both plated a pair of Wildcats as the duo combined for four RBIs courtesy of three base knocks as well as a sacrifice fly by Spedale.
- Nicholas Brunet touched home all three times he reached safely, doing so after drawing a free pass and following both seeing-eye singles.
- Jett Aube does not usually get a ton of the spotlight as he is primarily used as a pinch or courtesy runner, but he thrived in his role as he tied for the ballgame's most runs scored with three in addition to stealing second as one of the Cats' two against LU battery mates.
- Kadyn Howard got the winning decision, his first in Orange and Blue since transferring from Southern Arkansas CC.

- With the victory, Head Coach Mike Byrnes notched career win number 497 at Louisiana College / Christian University, putting him just three shy of the historic 500-win milestone.
