Wildcats Top Performers:
Â
- Nicholas Brunet nearly logged a perfect day at the dish, going 4-for-5 (.800) plus two runs, a double, a hit-by-pitch, and finally, blasting a RBI single back up the box.
Â
- Harrison Waxley has become one of the most fearsome RBI producers in the NAIA during the early portion of the schedule, tacking on another six more (five coming in game two) as half of those runners scored on his bases loaded double in the left-center gap. Through just six contests and two weekends of action, he has accrued an astounding 15 RBIs for an average of 2.5 per ballgame.
Â
- Jacob Bareswell, a late addition to the roster from Centenary (Louisiana), proved to be a magician with the leather in his hand, sitting down six Wildcats or 66.7% of all his outs, on strikes, yielding a single hit and walk without a score over three innings for his first win at LCU.
Â
- Cy Fontenot built off his solid no-decision versus Dillard and earned victory number one as the starting pitcher in game two K'ed four with one earned run (two total), hit, and walk apiece given up in a trio of frames.
Â
- For the second weekend in-a-row, Brady Sers sent the baseball hightailing it over the wall, becoming the first player with multiple round-trippers on the season by launching a solo blast as part of his two runs scored and two-walk nightcap.
Â
- Hunter Gotreaux also joined in on the long ball fun, crushing his first as a Wildcat after transferring in from Hutchinson Community College, putting one out just to the left of dead centerfield. Overall, his stat line was 3-of-5 (.600), a solo homer, four RBIs as well as a run scored.
Â
- Dylan Beier and Trip Flotte formed a formidable pair out of the bullpen in the 15-5 blowout, combining for three innings of one-hit baseball and a quartet of punchouts to boot.
Â
- Caleb Duhon was a menace on the bases as he scored four times on top of stealing two bags and Tyler McKenna recorded a two-run double for his lone base knock to go along with a pair of free passes and scores during his one game appearance out of two.
