PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University baseball program jumped on Xavier (Louisiana)'s starting pitcher early and often on Friday night, tagging him for six runs through the first two innings as the Wildcats rolled in their 2024 conference debut, 13-3 in seven.

Wildcats Top Performers:

 

• Harrison Waxley is blossoming into a star before our very eyes as the Redshirt Freshman upped his batting average to an even .500 for the season with a 4-for-5 (.800) day that included three RBIs, three doubles, and a run scored.

 

• Gabe Spedale entered the game as a defensive replacement in the second inning and made the most of the next man up mentality, going 2-of-3 (.667) while scoring twice and stealing a pair of bags.

 

• Andrew Yuratich earned his second victory on the hill this year, tossing five solid frames of three-run ball plus a pair of whiffs before Jacob Bareswill made the final two innings a wrap, averaging a strikeout per every three outs and not allowing a score.

 

• Adrian Aguilar, Nicholas Brunet, and Braxton Cooksey all had multi-RBI outings as each drove home a pair while hitting a collective .364 (4-of-11) and scoring thrice.

 

• Logan Lobell was the catcher for the contest's first pitch and made two plate appearances before exiting, coaxing two free passes for an official at-bat total of zero.

 

• Zac Bacilla came on as a pinch runner two times and did his job to perfection, crossing the dish each instance as well as swiping second once.

 

• Both Braden Trull and Caleb Duhon scored two runs on top of driving in a single ribbie whereas the former reached on a single plus a bean ball and the latter drew two bases on balls.
