WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program saw the career shutouts baton passed from a former starter to her former backup as
Jaycee Woods claimed her second Red River Athletic Conference Defender of the Week accolade of the year and the third of her career, after tying and then breaking fall of 2021 / 2022 teammate Jessica Carro Pedreira's all-time clean sheet mark.
Woods, a senior goalkeeper from Mount Pleasant, Texas, after putting up zeroes in triumphs over Huston-Tillotson (5-0) in her final regular season home match and Houston-Victoria (1-0), she became the program's all-time career shutouts leader with #14 & #15, taking the crown from the player she used backup under then Head Coach Kendall Ayers.
She made five saves while facing nine shots, lowering her career and season GAA to 1.19 (down 8 points) / 1.07, respectively, while her save percentage rose nine percentage points to 73.9% (career) / 74.1% (season).
Woods, Coach
Harrison Houle and the road warriors face Texas A&M-San Antonio as well as Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday and Saturday, both matches kicking off a 1 p.m. central time.
