Every year, the NCAA and Division III institutions across the country, celebrate what is known as Division III Week. The week provides schools the opportunity to celebrate the impact of athletics and their student-athletes on campus and in the surrounding community. 
 
This year DIII week runs from April 1^stthrough 7^th. Louisiana College athletics will be hosting a variety of events, with the finale event scheduled for April 22nd.  
 
On Monday April 1st, the Louisiana College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be hosting a "Picnic in the Quad", which will include games, food, and the chance to interact with LC student-athletes. In addition, Lifeshare will be running a blood drive in order to meet the demand of blood supply in the local community. 
 
On Wednesday, a pre-game tailgate will be hosted at the Louisiana College baseball field, prior to our televised game against Centenary College. The tailgate will include an inflatable obstacle course, a bounce house, and games hosted by our own student athletes. The baseball game will also be the "Cats Crush Cancer", where ticket proceeds and fan donations will be given to the Rapides Regional and Cabrini Cancer Centers. The tailgating and side games will run from 4pm until first pitch at 7:05 pm. 
 
Throughout the entire week, LC SAAC will be handing out DIII week tickets. If you pick up one of these tickets, you will be entitled to a complimentary pizza slice at the Lady Wildcats softball game against UT Tyler on Friday at 6pm. 
 
After Easter break, the SAAC committee will round out the DIII celebration with the Second Annual Wildcat Talent Show and Appreciation Night. Not only will student-athletes showcase their other "talents", but faculty and staff will be honored with awards based on nominations by the student-athlete body.
