The Louisiana College softball team will be on the road for the first time this weekend to take on Howard Payne University as they get their first taste of conference and road action. They will play a double header on Friday starting at 1pm and one more game on Saturday before heading home back to Pineville.
The ladies have not seen any failure yet in the early part of the season. They are sitting at a perfect 4-0, with all four games coming at Wildcat Park. The ladies are looking to prove that their success has not just been a fluke and that they can dominate any field whether it be at home or on the road.
Their first taste of action saw them take care of Schreiner University in a double header winning both games and then they beat Millsaps College the very next day in yet another double header.
While the start is promising, the ladies will be looking to prove a lot of things in this game. This will be the first action they have seen in 13 days and the first time they will have been on the road all season. This will also be the first taste of conference action the women will get.
Howard Payne has been a mixed bag to begin the season, they sit just above .500 at a record of 4-3 with a 2-2 home record and a 2-1 record on the road. They have also seen conference action already as they are coming off a series against Belhaven in which they won the overall series 2-1.

Sami Walters,
Samantha Cetta, and
Shelby Bergeron all had big games in their last outing against Millsaps as they all walked away with a run apiece. A pair of impressive starts from freshmen
Sarah Gartman in the circle and
Jade Brady at the plate have injected even more talent into a deep lineup for first-year head coach
Barry Roberts.

The first game of the double header will be this Friday on February 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. and the second will take place the same day at 3:00 P.M. The women will then come back and play one more game on February 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. before heading home. All games will take place at Lady Jacket Park.
