The Louisiana College men's and women's track & field teams completed their second meet in two days on Saturday with another solid showing, especially in the field events. The Wildcats were in Jackson, Miss. for the Mississippi College season opener and had 11 top 10 finishes for the day highlighted by the field events.
It was the throw of Dylan Fusiler in the men's javelin that produced the highest finish for the Wildcat men with a distance of 49.47m (162-04'). His throw was the longest of any player associated with a college or university. LaRyan Jones was only a few meters shorter with his throw in the event, finished fifth overall at 45.72m (150').
Kyle Sarrazin (12.39m) and Devyn Allen (38.31m) each earned fifth place finishes in the shot put and discus respectively, while
Nathan Gautreaux was fifth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.80m (5-10.75).
For the women, it was once again the javelin event that produced the top spot for LC as
Gracie Lacroix also finished second in the event with a throw of 33.60m (110-03').
Brooke Jones turned in another top 10 finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.95m (36-01.25) and
Nora Day was seventh in the long jump. Day also ran another good time in the 100m hurdles with a fourth place finish and a time of 16.17 seconds.Â
