3358The Cru enter the ASC weekend with the conference's best record at 11-2 and riding an impressive seven game winning streak. In their last game, last Saturday, UMHB held on for an 81-77 victory over Texas Wesleyan University to extend their streak to seven in a row. Their lone loss in December came in a conference matchup with East Texas Baptist during the opening conference weekend of the season. The Cru are led this season by a pair of talented sophomore guards in Hannah Holt and Kendall Rollins, both of which are averaging more than 14 points per game. Both players rank in the top five in the ASC in scoring, with Holt leading the way at 17.8 per game, just ahead of LC's Brooke Jones at 17.3. UMHB is tied for first in the conference in team scoring, averaging 74.2 points per game, sharing the total with UT Tyler. The Cru have the best free throw percentage in the conference and the second best scoring margin, topping their opponents by an average of 12.0 points per game. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton, Texas.

2507The Tornado come into the ASC weekend with an even 6-6 record on the season, having last the last three games in a row and four of their last five. Their post Christmas trip to the UT Dallas Classic saw them go 0-2 against Wisconsin-Eau Claire (70-49) and Trinity (TX) (84-78). Concordia is 1-2 in home games this season, and have lost the last two games on their home floor after their home opener win over Schreiner on November 15. The Tornado rank next to last in scoring this season at just 57.8 points per game, but are fourth in the conference in scoring defense only allowing 60.3 points to their opponents. Senior guard Jaela Dejean leads the team with a 13.8 point per game average and is coming off a 21 point performance against Trinity. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Concordia Fieldhouse in Austin, Texas.

Louisiana College  6-4 (2-2)  |  4th ASC East

5201The Wildcats return to play after their Christmas break loss on the road to nationally ranked Trinity (TX) on December 18. LC has the third best scoring offense in the conference at 71.5 points per game and have relied largely on their ability inside the arc to score points. The Wildcats are shooting just 21.3% from behind the three-point line but making 42.0% of their shots inside the arc. The higher percentage is due in large part to the dominant inside presence of Wildcats bigs. Senior center Brooke Jones is second in the ASC in scoring at 17.3 points per game and fifth in rebounding with 8.2 per game. Jones, along with sophomore Zharian Maxmillion who turned in her first double-double of the season in the Wildcats' last game, and the driving ability of senior guard Kourtney McGhee creates many opportunities around the basket for LC.

The Wildcats take on Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. in Belton and can be watched live via the links provided above courtesy of UMHB. After their game Thursday LC takes off for Austin and a matchup with Concordia (TX). Live coverage of Saturday's 2:00 p.m. tip-off are also provided above courtesy of Concordia. The Wildcats begin the 2018 portion of the schedule with four straight conference road games before returning home on January 18 for the annual "Fill the Fieldhouse" night against East Texas Baptist.
